Welcome to My Fiber35 Diet Website

I will turn 40 this year. Approx. 4 years ago my metabolism started slowing down without me realizing this slowdown. So, I slowly started gaining weight. Not huge amounts, but I can see the gain in weight and I feel it. I hate it.
I started cutting out certain foods from my diet. I also reduced the amount of Fast Food I was eating, but in the end the reduced calorie intake was turning out useless. I did not lose weight nor did I significantly stop the slow weight gain. I walked several miles with my dog, but even the regular exercise did not do a thing for my weight. I did not feel "big" enough to go on a regular diet.
Fast forward to 2007. My yearly checkup showed a weight of about 170 lbs. The blood tests showed that I had lost the fight against high cholesterol. I had slowly passed the 150 mark and that was enough.
My doctor suggested a Cholesterol reducing medicine, which I accepted as a given. My dad already had heart problems and that is something to be careful with.
I did want to lose weight, but I did not want to go on a specific diet program either. First of all I hate spending money on these "special" dietary products and second I do not believe in most of these programs. I wanted something that fit my lifestyle, my budget, and my idea of dieting. I did a lot of research and found the answer to be in "Fiber".
I read a book about a fiber diet. I did not wanted to use it to go on a real diet, but the information I found helped me to develop a healthy food plan that allowed me to all the food I liked (in moderation of course), and still slowly lose weight.
This is my story about trying to lose weight.
